has anyone tried and more importantly succeeded in fitting a fuel gauge off any other bike ? i dont trust my reserve light to be honest and would like a clearer view of what fuel i have left. cheers . John :?

Just forget the light, remove the bulb when you do not trust it.
You always have the reserve switch left, haven't you ?
Ride it until it bocks, switch to reserve and you can look for approx. 40 miles (that should do it) for a gas station.

I like to see my light going on and off as I go up and down the hills on the A34 - not something you'd get in Holland though I suppose ;)

riding relativly sensibly i got 56miles once my light came on and i switched to reserve was nerve racking last 20 though on the a14 lol

For some reason my reserve doesnt do anything once the light comes on I have about 20 miles or so !!
A fuel gauge would be nice but my speedo milage does the trick 100 miles and its time to look.

The sprint gauge! I agree. I like to see it go on and off with the hills. and especially if I hit the brake it goes off immediately. You can say I like to play with the thing. try to make it go on and off to my liking. I'm silly like that. So I can count on turning the reserve with in ten or so miles from the light coming on.
