The RF does have " floating " discs but that means half a milimetre of movement at most.. if its very movable then the bobbins are worn out, it means a new disc im afraid.

And i should add ( contrary to what the old hands say ) never change 1 disc on its own, always change the pair.

So how do you replace the bobins? Thought you had to change the whole disc.

nar you fit race bobbins. they have a circlip on the back instead of the pressed type on there now.
you cut the old bobbins off and fit the new ones.
i've got a set in the shed that i was thinking of doing it too. they do bobbins with bullet ends in these days too.

Ive just had that trouble, replaced both disks and pads, didnt know you could get race bobbins.

Ive got one good disk if you want it though, no wear at all, don't know if its ok to change just the one for a 2nd hand one or not :?:
